Who are we and how can you contact us?
This privacy policy aims to give you information on how your personal data are processed by NordicWise Limited. In this policy, we refer to ourselves as 'we', 'us', and 'our'.
Please note that we use the term “personal data” which has the meaning of “personal information” in the relevant law.

Where do we get your data from?
- Browser
Your internet browser (such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, or Microsoft Edge) automatically transmits some information to us every time you access content on one of our internet domains. Examples of such data include the URL of the particular web page you visited, the IP (Internet Protocol) address of the computer you are using, or the browser version that you are using to access the website.
- Directly from you
We may obtain personal data directly from you, e.g. when you contact us, or when our cookies are enabled on the websites.
- From our customer
We may obtain your data from our customer, if our customer has embedded the Translation API into its product and you are an end user of this product. We may also obtain your personal data from our customer, if it has installed one of our on-premise solutions and provides us with screenshots or other data needed to solwe a problem - and this screenshot or other data contains your personal data. Finally, we may also obtain your personal data from our customer, if our customer uses other products we provide (e.g. Translation for Slack or Phone Call Translator module) - and your data from a part of communication (e.g., you are our customer’s dialog partner or communicate with our customer in Slack).
- From our affiliate partner (if you represent a company)
We run an affiliate program - our affiliate partners spread information about our services to audiences that may be interested in it. If you represent a company, your contact details may be provided to us by an affiliate partner.
- From your account (or the account of a company you represent) in social networks and information platforms, such as Google Maps or alike (if you represent a company)
When we collect information about companies that may be interested in our services, we check their accounts in social networks (e.g. LinkedIn) and information platforms (e.g. Google Maps). We may collect and process your contact data in connection to the company you represent (or work for).
Cookies and similar technologies
We process personal data when cookies or similar technologies (e.g. Web Beacons) are used on our website. This Privacy Policy does not cover processing activities involving cookies and other similar technologies. Please, check our Cookie Policy instead.
What data, for what purposes, on what basis, and for how long do we process?
We only collect personal data about you insofar as is necessary to achieve the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.
If a “Contract” legal basis is mentioned, the legal basis set forth in Art. 6(1)(b) of the GDPR applies.
If a “Legitimate interest” legal basis is mentioned, the legal basis set forth in Art. 6(1)(f) of the GDPR applies.
If a “Consent” legal basis is mentioned, the legal basis set forth in Art. 6(1)(a) of the GDPR applies.
Some data categories are marked with an asterisk (*). These data categories are related to either input or output information for translation. We do not know whether the input information you submit for translation contains personal data. However, it is possible that this information contains personal data. Because of this we treat and protect both input and output information for translation as personal data. If your input text does not contain any personal data then no personal data is processed.
“Consent” with a double asterisk (**) shall mean the consent set forth by the respective norm of an applicable legal act implementing paragraph 3 of Article 5 of Directive 2002/58/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 July 2002 concerning the processing of personal data and the protection of privacy in the electronic communications sector.
“Soft opt-in” shall mean the respective norm of an applicable legal act implementing paragraph 2 of Article 13 of Directive 2002/58/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 July 2002 concerning the processing of personal data and the protection of privacy in the electronic communications sector.
The retention period described as “until the account is deleted” shall mean the following: 1 month after you delete your account OR 10 years after the last login, whichever is earlier.
