In Benin, a start-up turns water hyacinth into a decontaminating fiber to absorb oil leaks.

Before planting hyacinth bulbs, it is recommended to protect against diseases and pests by holding them for 10-15 minutes in the following solution.

The water hyacinth was presented in 1884 at the World’s Fair in New Orleans, also known as the World Cotton Centennial.

Hyacinth is a beautiful, graceful flower, which blooms in early spring, when the first rays of the sun warm the earth after hibernation.

The DCI assessment also found that intense pollution by untreated sewage and solid wastes that flow into the lake, encroachments of water channels and clogging has diminished the circulation and inflows into the lake, leading to the extensive growth of the weed water hyacinth which has emerged as a health hazard.

These wastes may include leaves, roots, stubbles, crop residues, straw, hedge clippings, weeds, water hyacinth; saw dust, kitchen wastes and human habitation wastes.

For high risk material, such as Rattan, Water Hyacinth, Palm Leaf, Sea grass, corium, PU and PVC items, add 2 kgs per container.
