While that may have been true - though the word "all" is usually an exaggeration - our refusal to participate in the direction of our lives, our country, and the world, is unfortunately what has gotten us where we are in a mess of climate change, misogyny, racism, jingoism, etc. And these things can be grouped together under the umbrella of hatred and disdain, as opposed to the umbrella of love, empathy and compassion.

During the 2016 campaign, pundits were often incredulous at the sight of religious-right leaders at the side of the thrice-married, biblically ignorant, philandering, ethically challenged businessman-turned-politician - one whose blatant and coarsely stated misogyny, whose braggadocio about sexually harassing women, whose treatment of women as property and objects of derision, could not deter them from joining his quest.

This farewell address was his final opportunity to plainly tell the nation why the electoral path just taken, one strewn with racism, Islamophobia and misogyny was the wrong one.

That said, I don’t believe that those who cite the 20-minute statistic are driven by misogyny or fear of the clit.

Polo Polo (1944-), whose routines are characterized by a high content of sexual references, with a touch of misogyny, relayed as a personal anecdote.

And yet, they could not produce a single article that contained antisemitism, racism, misogyny, or that articulated an extremist ideology of any sort.
